PREOPERATIVE INSTRUCTIONS FOR GENERAL ANESTHESIA
- DO NOT EAT OR DRINK ANYTHING FOR 6 HOURS PRIOR TO SURGERY
- Wear a short sleeve shirt and low-heeled shoes. Wear tennis shoes/sneakers. No loose fitting sandals.
- Bring a responsible person to drive you home.
- If you take daily medications, they should be taken with the smallest amount of water possible, unless otherwise instructed.
- No alcohol or drugs, including marijuana, for 24 hours prior to your appointment.
- If the patient is under legal age, they should be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian, unless previous arrangements have been made with our office.
- Remove contact lenses prior to coming to your appointment.
- We request at least a 48 hour notice when rescheduling surgery appointments. Thank you!
- We recommend that someone be with you for the first 24 hours after surgery.
